MANASSAS, VA – In response to the financial challenges many families are facing during the federal government shutdown, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC) is reminding its members of the support programs available to help keep their power on.
DeShaundra Jones, director of Customer Operations, emphasized NOVEC’s commitment to the community: “We recognize this is a challenging time for many. Supporting our members remains our top priority, and we're ready to help them stay connected and informed about their options.”
Assistance Options
NOVEC continues to offer flexible interest-free payment arrangements to assist customers who may have fallen behind on their bills. Additionally, Operation Round Up (ORU),is a program supported by NOVEC members. The Co-op rounds up participating members' monthly bills to the next dollar amount. Families that need assistance may contact any of these agencies to see if they qualify for ORU.
Virginia’s Home Energy Assistance Program (EAP), is a federally funded program that helps eligible low-income households pay home energy bills.
